We announce the death of Lorraine Recktenwald (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania), who passed away on October 7, 2026, at the age of 81. Lorraine will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her spouse Francis Recktenwald; her parents, Daniel Davic and Frances Davic; and her siblings, Dan Davic (Karen) and Marylea Hartman (Ed).
She is survived by: her children, Joetta Royal (Jim), Amy Barna and Matthew Trainor (Heather); and her stepchildren, Rick Recktenwald (Janet), Mike Recktenwald (Kim), Mary Kay Stiefvater (Mark) and Mark Recktenwald (Michelle). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc. (4201 Brownsville Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15227). A prayer will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 9:15 AM at the Holy Cross Parish (460 Reed St, Clairton, PA 15025). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Pennsylvania Chapter, 2835 E. Carson Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15203.
