Mary Jo Winokur Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Jo Winokur (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 2, 2025 at the age of 93. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Mary Jo Winokur to pay them a last tribute.
As we bid Mary Jo farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Mary Jo is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Catherine Seifried and Charles Schmitt; and her husband James L. Winokur. She is survived by: her daughters, Megan Sherman (Keith Kaste) and Tanya Nicholls (Andy); her grandson Finn Kaste; her friend Gary McKillop; and her caregivers, Lynn, Trevor, Mary Jo's and Lauren. She is also survived by her family and was very proud of her children and grandson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.
