As Matthew departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. He is survived by: his parents, Joy Foster and Ron Foster; his sisters, Lea Newport (Ryan Newport), Jenna Hurley (Max Hurley) and Madison Foster (Jimmy Knepper); and his grandparents, Jean Lea, Linda and Steve Kifer. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), in honor of Matthew's memory and his hope that others receive the care they need. If preferred, donations can also be made to the American Heart Association to advance Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome research, treatment, and support.
