He was predeceased by: his wife Cecilia; his sons, Michael Stecz and Mark Stecz; his parents, John Stecz and Helen Stecz; and his siblings, Dorothy Havrilla, John Stecz and Gabriel Stecz.
He is survived by: his children, Lisa Erb (Steve), Matthew Stecz and Laura Hanks (Jeff); his grandchildren, Kevin Erb (Tina), Amanda Schmidt (Andrew), Carla Colasurdo (Joe), Adam Hanks (Danni) and Russell Erb; and his great grandchildren, Anna, Eleanor, Bryson, Paisley, Emma, Kaleb and Noah. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Soxman Funeral Homes, Ltd. (7450 Saltsburg Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15235). A Mass was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. John the Baptist Church (444 St John St, Pittsburgh, PA 15239).
