He was predeceased by: his wife Edith; his son Richard (Bonnie); and his siblings, Ed (Ann), Merle (Judy), Arch, George and Jim.
He is survived by: his children, Karen, Patty, Sam Jr. (Michele), Greg, Kenny (late Diana) and Kathy (Mark); and his siblings, Shirley Davis and Chuck McDade. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at 9:00 AM at the Soxman Funeral Homes LTD. (7450 Saltsburg Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15235). A reception was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bridges Hospice.
