It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Ann Smith (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania), born in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, who passed away on May 6, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Mattie Pearl Williams-King and William Chapman (Chadman); and her husband Charles Bunny Smith. She is survived by: her stepfather John Richard King; her daughters, Lucretia Marie Williams, Vonda Renee Smith, Romaine Smith, Lenora Louise Smith, Carol Elizabeth Smith-Brown and Viola Joanne Smith-Wallace; her son-in-law Vallon Walllace; her son Calvin Smith, Jr. (Shirley); her close friend Carole King; and her children, Mattie Pearl Williams-King, John Richard King, Charles Jerome Smith-Bey, Robert Lee Smith, Sammy Smith, Adair Porter, Elenor King-Brown and Dorothy Spearman. She is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
