He was predeceased by: his father Albert Thorp. He is survived by: his wife Ginny Thorp (Virginia L. Shew); his daughters, Katie Thorp and Taylor Thorp (Ryan Kish); his granddaughter Nyla Thorp Kish; his mother Suzanne Thorp of New Jersey; his siblings, Laura Thorp Katz (Joel) of Boston and Andrew Thorp (Lisa) of St. Louis; and his siblings' children, Daniel Katz, Julianna Katz, Jeremy Katz, Adam Thorp, Brian Thorp and Grace Thorp.
