He was predeceased by: his parents, Timothy McCarthy and Catherine "Rena" McCarthy. He is survived by: his wife Mary M. "Peggy" (Carey); his children, Mary Patricia Bernauer (James) and Timothy Sean McCarthy (Maureen); his grandchildren, Patrick J. Bernauer, Timothy M., Margaret K. and Sean T. McCarthy; and his siblings, Thomas McCarthy, Rita Strauss (Charles), Eileen Erny (Charles "Bud"), Margaret Leslie (Paul) and Michael Beczak (Patricia). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
