He was predeceased by: his parents, Louise and Elbert; his sister Ruth Burdick Patten; and his siblings-in-law, George, Jeanne Moore Lindahl and Marjorie Moore Forehand (Sue).
He is survived by: his wife Sue Moore Burdick; his children, Natasha Carstens (Ted) and Joseph Burdick (Laura); his grandchildren, Rachel Phillips (Ross), Edward Carstens, Jakob Burdick and Andrew Burdick; his brothers-in-law, Ken Moore (Linda) and Keith Forehand; and his friend Carol Snodgrass. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of choice.
