He was predeceased by: his parents, John O. Holzapfel and Sarah E. Holzapfel (McKenna); his wife Ruth Marie Holzapfel (Maurer); his daughter Ruth Ann Holzapfel; his granddaughter Sarah; and his siblings, Mary Jane Dulavitch (Paul), Catherine Holzapfel, Thomas Holzapfel (Eileen), Sarah, Ellen Braun (Mel), Irma Sanders (Bill), John Holzapfel and Joseph Holzapfel.
He is survived by: his children, Cheryl Weaver (late John), Dianne Killmeyer (Ray) and William Holzapfel II (Jen); his grandchildren, Raymond, Gary, Amanda, William III, Julia, Tabitha, Harlen, Danielle, Cherilyn, Marissa, Juan, Luisa, Derek and Garrett; his siblings, Francis Holzapfel (Pat), Patricia Rios (Fred), James Holzapfel (Nancy), Margaret Harke (Fred), Michael D. Holzapfel (Colleen) and Timothy P. Holzapfel (Ronnie); his sister-in-law Louise Gargis (Kevin); and his children, Walter Gardner, Herbie Schmidt and Melissa Plunko. He is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
