It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William Murtaugh Sr. of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who passed away on July 9, 2025, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Murtaugh and Mary Murtaugh; his wife Cecilia M. Murtaugh; his grandson Brian Murtaugh; and his siblings, Eleanor Murtaugh, Harry Murtaugh and Anna McMahon.
He is survived by: his children, William J. Murtaugh (Karen), Thomas P. Murtaugh, Joy Meiers (John), Michael Murtaugh (Donna), Mary Murtaugh, Daniel Murtaugh (Annette) and James Murtaugh (Shea); his grandchildren, Stephen, Lindsey (Brad), Abby (Jeremiah), Michael (Jennifer), Kevin, Kaitlin (Connor) and Ryan; and his great grandchildren, Daniel, Patience, Caleb, Marley and Emiline. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and loving extended family.
