It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carol Homschek Knowles of Pittston, Pennsylvania, who passed away on September 19, 2025, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Homschek and Julia Homschek (Kobi); her husband Leroy A. Knowles Sr.; her son Stephen Nyzio; and her brother Joseph Homschek.
She is survived by: her son Joseph Nyzio (Toni Ann) of Pittston; her daughter-in-law Leanne Nyzio of Carverton; her stepchildren, Joseph Knowles (Sandy) of Pittston, Leroy Knowles Jr. (Tanya) of Pittston, William Knowles (Pam) of Harding and Joanne Mortimer (John) of Pittston; her grandchildren, Joleen, Nicole, Anthony Nyzio, Amanda, Briana, Kelsey, Alyssa Knowles, Jordan and Alexandria Mortimer; her sister Mary Jo Morreale of Pittston; her sibling's children, Amy Morreale, Sammy Morreale, Alan and Jeff Homschek; and her great-nephew Michael Crawford.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc. (255 McAlpine St, Duryea, PA 18642). A graveside service was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Michaels Byzantine Catholic Cemetery (205 N Main St, Pittston, PA 18640).
