She is survived by: her mother Catherine Benson (Stancavage); her children, Ed Check (Matt Meers) of Easthampton, MA, Kathleen Carr (Chris) of Bentonville, VA, Jacqueline Pesotski (Robert) of Wilkes-Barre and Donna Burgess; her grandchildren, Jamie Costello, Jaclyn Smochek, Kristen Carr, Dr. Megan Borkan, Caitlin Frank, Nicole Brooks, Robyn Wolfe, Robert E. Burgess, Lauren Walton, LeighAnn Frazer and Ryan Burgess; and her siblings, John F. Benson (Ann Marie) of North Wilkes-Barre and Ruth Brannigan of Wilkes-Barre.
A memorial gathering will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Saint Nicholas-Saint Mary Parish (226 S Washington St, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Cemetery (217 Memorial Hwy, Dallas, PA 18612).
