He was predeceased by : his parents, Joseph V. and Mary L. Kopec (Spinosi). He is survived by : his children, Chris Kopec (Tim Blake) and Kimberly Kopec; his grandchildren, Zac Kopec of Orlando, FL, Kara and Mia Collins; his sister Rosalie Bonsall (John) of Durham, NC; and his former life partner Beatrice Romanoski (Joseph). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children´s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in Ron's name.
