He is survived by: his wife Catherine Eckels (Bielek); his children, Perry Bielek (Amanda), Django Eckels and Winter Eckels; his brother Eric Eckels (Teri); his niece Seana Eckels; his brother-in-law Thomas Bielek (Semmy); and his nephews, Andrew and Aaric.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
