He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Leroy Shoemaker Sr. and Margaret Signa Shoemaker; and his siblings, Wayne Shoemaker, Harry Shoemaker Jr., Elida Dribelbis and Leslie Avery.
He is survived by: his wife Rosemarie Margaret Ryan; his stepchildren, Bryant Kulish (Denise), N. J., Dwayne Kulish (Kim), Pompton Lakes and Melissa Curry; his grandchildren, Kayle Kulish, Dwayne Kulish Jr., Emma Kulish, Lyndsay Kulish, Chantelle Wilkins, Yolanda Wilkins, Breanna Wilkins and Tiarra Cooper; and his siblings, Sandra Shoemaker (Ronald Bienick), Shirley Park, David Shoemaker, Brian Shoemaker (Wendy), Thomas Shoemaker and Philip Shoemaker. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions, if desired, may be made to the Luzerne County SPCA, Blue Chip Animal Refuge or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
