He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Welles and Elizabeth Joan Haines Welles; his stepfather Leo Yocius; his wife Donna Melodick; his son Thomas R. Welles; his granddaughter Nicole Booth; his great grandchild Jaxson Booth; his nephews, Stephen R. Welles and Ricky Welles; and his brothers, Jimmy Welles, Michael Welles, Frederick Welles (Ricky) and Robert Welles.
He is survived by: his children, Kimberly (Kimmy), Young (Kraig) of Kingston, Tracy (Giraffe), Fowler (Robert) of Sugar Notch, Paula Barber (John) of Edwardsville, Mary Kay (Peanuts), Bachert (Stephen) of Plymouth and Shawn Welles (Bozo) of Plymouth; his grandchildren, Marissa (Booga), Haley (Shakers), Tyler (TyGuy), Nisa (Penny), Kylie (KJ), Audi (Pocahontas), Emily (Instigator), Julia (JLo), Dylan (Hill Billy Dilly), John (JP), Lauryn (Caboose), Ellyona (Betty Boop) and Natalie (Chipmunk); his great grandchildren, Robbie (Magoo), Mackenzie (MickeyD), Joselyn (JoshLyn), Noah (Shorty), Desmond (Hollywood), Elsie (Pebbles), Zane (Crazy Zane), Iyla (Pointer), Jace (JT), Annaliyah (AJ), Eloise (Weezy), Theo (Huxster), Tatum (Tater Tot), Gianna (Pretty Girl) and Gabriella (Gabby); and his brother Gary T. Welles (Pat) of Shavertown.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the S. J. Grontkowski Funeral Home (530 W Main St, Plymouth, PA 18651). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
