He is survived by: his close friend Ranita Smith; his godchildren, Ky'lif and Promize Underwood; his brothers, Kent Carpenter (Vanessa), Van Betts, Marcus Carpenter (Izetta) and Ramon Carpenter; and his aunt Barbara Jean Walton. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
