He is survived by: his sons, Michael Boyer, Steven Boyer (Maria), Phillip Boyer (Jen) and James Boyer (Lisa); his stepchildren, Scot Smale (Kelly), Debra Smale and Darlene Medlar (Jeff); and his brother Allan Buffenmyer. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren, 2 nieces, and a nephew.
