He was predeceased by: his parents, Harmon Gaul and Bessie Gaul (Galentine); his wife Dorothy Louise Sprankle; and his siblings, Thomas, Lee, Samuel "Fred", Lewis, Robert Gaul, Charlotte Douthit and Faye Snyder.

He is survived by: his daughters, Linda Carrithers (Steve) of Newport News and Reverend Lisa Griffin (Gaul) of Pittsburgh; his grandson Trevor Carrithers; and his sisters, Marion Burkett (Verlon) of Punxsutawney and Mae Burkett of Punxsutawney.

Memorial donations may be made in Everett's memory to Trinty United Church of Christ.
