He is survived by: his wife Mary Compton (Soles); his sons, Robert M. Compton, Jr. (Jill), Mathew J. Compton (Lynn) and Daniel Compton; his stepdaughter Christine M. Hendricks; his siblings, Debra Fritsch and Bill Compton (Smita); his grandchildren, Luke Crowell, Thomas Hendricks, Kodi Hendricks, Grace Compton, Caitlin Compton, Alex Cardano, Madelyn Compton, Maura Compton, Melanie Compton, Charlotte Compton, Sheamus Compton, Teagan Compton and Griffin Gerdes; and his pet Marley. He is also survived by several brothers/sisters in-laws, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, Robert's family kindly requests that his love of nature be honored with the planting of a tree.
