He was predeceased by: his parents, William Schaefer and Elizabeth Schaefer (Rogers); his son Brian Schaefer; and his sister Jane Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Schaefer (Lydon); his children, Meghan Pearce (James) and Sean Schaefer (Catherine); and his grandchildren, Henry, Theodore Schaefer, Madeleine and Joseph Pearce. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
