He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Alfred Bender and Alma Bender (Beitzel); his brother Samuel Bender; and his granddaughter Sienna Newell. He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Bender (Shuler); his children, Brook Bender, Jacklyn Newell (Clifton) and Charles Conrad Bender (Hannah); his grandchildren, Hudson and Clara Newell; his siblings, Grace Bender and David Bender (Linda); and his nephews, Eric Bender (Jen), Bryan Bender (Betsy) and Alan Bender (Lisa).
