He was predeceased by: his parents, Carmen Esposito and Frances Esposito (Cirulli); his son Christopher D. Esposito; and his siblings, Stephen Esposito, Stella Gill, Theresa Unger, Jean Menditto and Elias Esposito.

He is survived by: his wife Jeanne L. Esposito; his children, Kathy J. (David Pachuilo), Steven M. (Marybeth Esposito) and Mark C. Esposito; his siblings, Richard Esposito and Ruth Gehris; and his granddaughters, Christin, Cerisse, Ayla, Fatima, Kelsey and Chloe. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
