Dean Frantz Obituary
Dean P. Frantz, 88, of Reading, died December 10, 2013, in Reading Hospital. His wife W. Anne (Shelton) Frantz, died May 14. Born in Pottsville, he was a son of the late Norman E. and Alice H. (Umbenhauer) Frantz. He was a graduate of St. Clair High School in 1942, and served his country during WW II in the US Army. Dean attended Penn State University, Pottsville and Albright College.
He was a graduate of Lewis School of Hotel Management, Washington, DC. Dean was a cost analyst for Meridian Bank retiring in 1988. He was the president of the East Reading PTA in 1957; was the superintendent of St. Paul's Lutheran Sunday School, Reading, and was a licensed lay preacher of the Methodist Church, Philadelphia District, 1950 to 1952.
Dean is survived by a daughter, Janet E. Seeley, Seattle, WA., nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his niece, Nancy Dilcher. He was predeceased by a daughter, Carole E. Jones and a sister, Harriet Dilcher. Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading.
Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
