James L. Auchter Obituary
We announce the death of James L. Auchter of Reading, Pennsylvania, who passed away on June 11, 2026, at the age of 88. James will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Margaret E. Auchter (Koons); his parents, George Auchter and Anna Auchter (Parks); and his siblings, George Auchter and Msgr.
He is survived by: his children, Margaret K. Girardi (David Correale), Matthew K. Auchter (Suzanne) and Jonathan J. Auchter (Shadae Casiano); his grandchildren, Charlie, Lela, Tyson and Nicholas Girardi (Emma); his brother Bernard Auchter (Maureen); and his siblings-in-law, Rita Auchter, Patricia Auchter, Mary Ellen Koons, Fulton Koons (Susie), Malcolm "Oss" Koons and Bertha Koons. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
