He was predeceased by: his parents, Angel Rivera and Rosa Martinez Rivera; his former wife Ana Maria Rolon Rivera; his wife Carmen Lydia Ortiz Rivera; his son Jose Angel Santos; his siblings, Angel Luis Martinez Rivera (Mabel), Rosa M. Martinez Rivera and Ana Lydia Rivera "Adalina" (Nino Ramos); and his sisters-in-law, Nayda and Benita.
He is survived by: his children, David Rivera of Lebanon, Jacob Ray Rivera of Reading, Joaquin Rivera Jr. of Lebanon, Ana Rosa Rivera of Reading, Maria Elena Rivera Aponte (Luis) of Lebanon, Amelia Ana Rivera Belfield (Kahlil) of Allentown, AnaMaria Rolon Rivera (Daniel Vargas) of Reading, Edwin Ortiz of Bernville, Samuel Rivera of Reading, Angel Luis Rivera (Evelyn) of Temple and Sara Ortiz of Sinking Spring; and his siblings, Noemi Martinez Rivera of Allentown, Migdalia Rivera (Emilio Montañez) of Harrisburg, Esteban Martinez Rivera of Puerto Rico and Moises Martinez Rivera of Reading. He is also survived by ses 62 grandchildren and 78 great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Theo C. Auman Inc. (247 Penn St, Reading, PA 19601). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
