He was predeceased by: his parents, June Schaeffer (Swavely) and Laverne Schaeffer; and his brother Robert Schaeffer. He is survived by: his wife Donna M. Schaeffer (Taddeo); his children, Michelle L. (John C. Perate) of Bern Township and Michael Schaeffer (Wendi (Miller)) of Reading; his grandchildren, Rocco Angelo of Bern Township, Dominic Michael of Bern Township, Gianna Rose Perate of Bern Township, Jessica Miller of Reading, Stephanie (Derrick Benton) of Spring Ridge and Trey Miller of Exeter Township; his great grandchildren, Mason, Jace, Julius and Theodore; his sister Beverly Schaeffer of Reading; and his goddaughter Kristy Lynn Natole of Reading. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to support veteran programs and patient care.
