It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Rhein of Reading, Pennsylvania, who passed away on November 27, 2022, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her significant other John H. "Jack" Rhein; her parents, Harry William and Edna Mary Schlaybach (Sell); and her brother Ronald Schlaybach. She is survived by: her children, John D. Rhein (Traci) of Chico, CA and Judy (Sam W. Johnson, Jr.) of Fuquay-Varina, NC.; her grandchildren, Tara M. (Kevin Lappen), Jenna N. Rhein, Mollie A. (Kevin Chrisinger) of Burke, VA and Sam W. Johnson, III (Brittany Albert); and her great grandchildren, Theodore, George and Elizabeth Lappen.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Habitat for Humanity, or the Salvation Army.
