He was predeceased by : his parents, Gordon N. Ginter, Sr. and Margaret A. Ginter (George); his stepson Todd Grove; and his siblings, Larry Ginter and Phyllis Ginter.

He is survived by : his son John D. Ginter; his stepdaughter Traci Grove; his stepgrandchildren, Rachel Grove and Mitchell Grove; and his brother Gordon N. Ginter, Jr.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
