He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Kauffman and Miriam Kauffman (Zettle); and his sister Bonita Gallagher (John). He is survived by: his wife Nancy P. Kauffman (Portzer); his children, Thomas S. "Seth" Kauffman of Lemont and Meara C. Kauffman (Christian Gampe); his grandchildren, Caspar William Gampe and Emilian Felix Gampe; and his pet Ruby.
