He was predeceased by : his parents, Earl Gress and Elsie Gress (Leid); his daughters, Melissa Swift (Gress) and Gale Gress; his brother Emory; his sister-in-law Pat Gress; and his sister Edith Gress.

He is survived by : his wife Beatrice Gress (Sheaffer) of Reinholds; his son Brian Gress of Reinholds; his son-in-law Keith Swift of Reamstown; and his granddaughter Felicia Foster (Nathan Foster) of Wernersville.
