He is survived by: his daughter Selina Matis; his siblings, Irene Jacobs (John), Alice Matis (John Scerba), James Matis (Carolyn), Joanie Staley (Fred) and George Matis (Lois); his nieces and nephews, Jeremy Thomas, Kevin Jacobs, Nicole Cline (Roger), Geo Matis (Karley) and Jim Matis; his great-nephew Kyler; and his great-nieces, Josie and Lakelyn. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Free Care Fund, a cause with a special connection to Tom and his family.
