He was predeceased by: his parents, George K. Peterson and Pearl M. Steis Peterson; his daughter Cindy Weaver; his grandchild Jesse Glatt; his brother Donald Peterson (Betty); his daughter-in-law Kelly Peterson; and his in-laws, Leo and Jennie Milford.

He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Peterson; his children, Sherry Korab (Jack), Shelley Glatt (Brian) of St. Marys, PA, Colleen Pace (Kenny), Beth Sorg (John) of Ridgway, PA, Robert Peterson of Ridgway, PA, Howard "Chip" Peterson of Ridgway, PA and Dan Peterson (Mary Jo) of Ridgway, PA; his grandchildren, Crystal, Charlene, Cathrine, Charles, Shannon, Kayla, Kaylee, Rebecca, Cory, Kole, Rachel, Aaron, James, Cassidy, Gabe, Hannah, Noah and Dane; and his brother George Peterson (Nancy). He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 29th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Leo Magnus Catholic Church (111 Depot St, Ridgway, PA 15853). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, September 29th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
