He was predeceased by: his mother Patricia R Abicunas (Lipiec). He is survived by: his father James E. Abicunas; his close friend Elizabeth "Betsy" Greenman; his son James N. Abicunas; and his sister Susan Danne of Aiken, S. C..
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Walukiewicz Oravitz Fell Funeral Home (132 S Jardin St, Shenandoah, PA 17976). A funeral service was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. John the Baptist Polish National Catholic Church (414 W Oak St, Frackville, PA 17931). A graveside service was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a cause that held a very special place in Jim's heart and was deeply meaningful to him and his family.
