He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Brooks and Helen Sherman (Shannon); and his wife Carol Brooks (Jackson). He is survived by: his sons, Christopher Brooks of Ogdensburg, PA and Ryan Brooks (Jamie) of Ogdensburg, PA; his grandchildren, Evan and Avery; and his siblings, Earl "Buz" Brooks (Judy) of Tioga, PA and Nancy Nauman (Dale) of Tioga, PA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
