She was predeceased by: her parents, Melvin E. Simpson and Thelma Davis Simpson; her husband Donald Nicklaus; and her siblings, Melvin "Chip" Simpson and Judith McComsey.

She is survived by: her close friend Dewey Null. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
