He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Lou Garbe; and his son John. He is survived by: his children, Judith (Bob Florczyk), James Schrenk (Andrea) of Pittsburgh, PA, Janet (late John Petok) of Pittsburgh, PA, Jeanne Schrenk of Pittsburgh, PA, Joanne (Michael Kilian) of Lutz, FL and Joyce (Douglas Sheerer) of Fombell, PA; and his great grandchild Dolores Schrenk (White). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren.
