She was predeceased by: her husband Stephen Salopek Sr.; her parents, Richard Foley and Frances Foley; and her brothers, Richard, William and Dennis.
She is survived by: her siblings, Thomas (Shirley), Julia Chavarria (Erland) and Patrick (Donna); her children, Stephen Jr. (Monica), Betsy Thompson (Gregor), Cindy and David (Traci); her grandchildren, Ian, Stephen, Samuel, Claire, Nathan, Sophie and Chloe; and her great grandchild Meredith. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Meals On Wheels, where Ruth was a volunteer until recently.
