He is survived by: his children, Joseph William O'Brien III, Kimberly Anne O'Brien (Kevin Casanova) and Lisa Marie Nevarez (Francisco); the mother of his children Joan Caruso O'Brien; his daughter Genevieve Marie O'Brien (Anthony Proietto); and his grandchildren, Joseph William O'Brien IV (Trinh), Alexandria Victoria Coates, Michael Mac O'Brien (Lauryn Fahey), Shannon Brae O'Brien, Emma Rose Potser, Jon Joseph O'Brien and Sophia Lucille Potser. He is also survived by many siblings, nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions in Joe's name be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital which was dear to his heart.
