He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Krellner; his children, Christopher Krug, Kimberly Krug (David Chiodo), Theodore Krug and Pam; his grandchildren, Josh Krug (Becca), Sheena Aaron (Adam) and Jena Shelander (Melvin); his great grandchildren, Kaylynn, Grace Krug, Mary Elizabeth, Isaac, Zeta Aaron, Melvin Philip, Jr. and Dennis Shelander; and his sisters, Martha Hanes, Helen Heary and Patricia Lang. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
