With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Carson Forest Mertz Jr. of Sandy Lake, Pennsylvania, born in Windber, Pennsylvania, who passed away on February 17, 2023 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his father Carson Mertz Sr.; his wife Barbara Clayton Mertz; his son Steve; and his sisters, Marjorie and Emajean.

He is survived by : his daughter Julianne of Graham, NC; and his daughter-in-law Denise Mertz of Sandy Lake, PA. He is also survived by six grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Sandy Lake Presbyterian Church are welcomed.
