She was predeceased by : her parents, Ernest Gigliotti and Sophie Batis Gigliotti. She is survived by : her husband George E. Matas; her children, Scott Matas (Kristin) of Mooresville, NC, Kerri Matas of Philadelphia and Tammy Thackston (Jonathan) of Athens, AL; her brother Ernest Giglotti (Julie) of Jeanette, PA; and her grandchildren, Connor Matas, Sophia Thackston, Claire Matas, Nathan Thackston, Maggi Schuchholz and Ella Matas.
As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Education and Development Fund for Nurses at Allegheny Valley Hospital.
