He was predeceased by: his parents, Ethel B. Holmes (Bossert) and Walter Kenneth Holmes, Sr.; and his granddaughter Cassie Holmes. He is survived by: his wife Susan Holmes (Varner); his son Justin Holmes (Amanda Geiser) of Houston, Texas; his grandchildren, Adam, Becca, Angie and Nina; and his siblings, Jeffrey A. Holmes (Joyce) of Murrysville, Brian L. Holmes (Carol) of Lower Burrell, Susan J. Holmes (late Joseph Dutton) of Greensburg, Peggy L. Holmes (Katrina Burkett) of Murrysville and J. Howard Holmes (Ann Bednar) of Murrysville. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins.
