He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas J. Hughes and Marion Garvey Hughes. He is survived by: his daughters, Bailey Patrick (Ryan) and Allie Hughes (Lyons); his brothers, T. J. Hughes (Laurie) of Scranton and Timothy Hughes (Vicky) of Scranton; his close friend Dorothy Palermo; the mother of his children Carol Hughes; and his close friend Kathleen Agurkis. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of the Sacred Heart or the Lake Winola Ambulance Company.
