He is survived by: his wife Marion Rosato Owen; his children, Lori Owen Smetanka (Joel) of Derwood, MD and Dennis (Debbie); his grandchildren, Joshua, Ethan, Isabella Owen, Peter, Andrew Smetanka, Ryan and David Huester; his stepgrandchildren, Ryan Vermack, Damien and Breanna Thomas; and his sister-in-law Linda Owen.
