It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph Pehanick (Scranton, Pennsylvania), born in Taylor, Pennsylvania, who passed away on June 3, 2022, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Frances Arcurie; his parents, John Pehanick and Mary Zatkovich Pehanick; his grandson Julian Pehanick; and his siblings, John, Edward Pehanich, Michael Pehonich, Mary Schuler, Anna Karabin and Helen Rafalko.
He is survived by: his children, Joseph Jr. (Darlene), Ken (Michele) and Teresa Mazzucca; his caregiver Chris; his grandchildren, Joseph Pehanick (Allison), Jessica Heise (Mark), Christopher Mazzucca (Kelly), Marissa Mazzucca (Quinn Kemp), Derek Pehanick (Melinda Mastrianni) and Robyn Best Pehanick; his great grandchildren, Angelo, Nicholas, Gianni, Greyson, Nash and Layla; and his sister Irene Jankowski. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gino J. Merli Veterans Center, 401 Penn Ave., Scranton, PA 18503. Donations are being accepted in memory of Joseph.
