She was predeceased by: her husband Ronald B. Shorten; her parents, Donald and Esther Reaser (Cruger); and her brother Allan Reaser. She is survived by: her children, Jane L. Merolla (George) of Dalton, Rhonda A. Walsh (Michael) of Moscow and David A. Shorten (Stephanie) of Enola, PA; her grandchildren, William Lawrence (Rachel Rafalko), Joseph Merolla, Matthew Merolla, Madison Merolla, Michael Walsh (Ana), Stephanie Roumiantseva (Greg), D. J. Shorten, Bryce Shorten and Kathryn Shorten; her great grandchildren, Asher, Tomás and Mariana; and her sister-in-law Donna Reaser. She is also survived by nephews and cousins.

Visitation was held on Thursday, December 4th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Duffy and Snowdon Funeral Home (401 Church St, Moscow, PA 18444). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Luke's Episcopal Church (232 Wyoming Ave, Scranton, PA 18503).
