In loving memory of Maxine Ann Thiel of Scranton, Pennsylvania, who departed this world on July 31, 2025 at the age of 90. Maxine leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Arthur Thiel; her parents, Maximo Gandara and Edith Gandara (Kreinberg); her sister Lynne Davis; and her stepdaughters, Linda Thiel and Leslie Thiel-Benson.

She is survived by: her daughter Laura Dillon (Matt); her grandchildren, Shane Thiel, Michael Szmurlo, Joseph Dillon, Melissa Szmurlo and Harrisburg; and her great grandchildren, Autumn Thiel and Blayke Schultz-Thiel. She is also survived by Nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to any VFW Post of the donor's choice.
