He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Phillips and Eva Heier Phillips; and his siblings, Floyd, Carl, Robert, Walter, Marie Heim, Eva Hargreaves, Dorothy Bowen, Adeline Armstrong and Mildred Powell.

He is survived by: his wife Ethel; his children, Kristin Chamberlain (Scott) and James C. Phillips (Linda); his grandchildren, Kira Chamberlain (RJ Austin), Adam Chamberlain (Rachael) and Lisa Price; and his great grandchildren, Caitlyn, Emma Chamberlain and Cole Hein.

“I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Phillips. He was my best friend's Dad and my scoutmaster of good old Troop 151 during the early sixties. I consider him one of my best role models while growing up during that time. Mr. & Mrs. Phillips always made me feel right at home as I spent a lot of time at their house with my good friend "Fireball". My condolences to Mrs. Phillips, Kris, "Fireball" and the family.
